Lukaku staying at Inter: I want to win Scudetto again

Inter star Romelu Lukaku insisted he is staying at the Serie A champions amid speculation over his future.

Lukaku has been linked with an Inter exit following the departure of head coach Antonio Conte as the Nerazzurri struggle financially due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite leading Inter to their first Scudetto in a decade, Lukaku has reportedly caught the attention of former club Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Lukaku, however, has no plans to leave San Siro as he eyes more silverware in Milan after he was named the best overall Serie A MVP.

Jurgen Klopp admitted to crying during Liverpool s Champions League trophy parade on Sunday.

Liverpool s celebrations continued in front of thousands of fans in the city a day after a 2-0 win over Tottenham in Madrid saw them claim a sixth European Cup/Champions League title.

Klopp, who is reportedly set to be offered a contract extension at Anfield, was emotional seeing the support for the Reds.

I cannot really describe it because I cried a little bit as well because it s so overwhelming what the people are doing, he said, via the club s website.

When you have a direct eye contact and you see how much it means to them that s touching to be honest. It s brilliant.

Aguero becomes joint-top scorer in Manchester City history

Sergio Aguero is Manchester City s joint-top scorer of all-time after netting his seventh Premier League goal of the season against Burnley on Saturday.

Aguero s first-half penalty versus Sean Dyche s side, which came on his first appearance since breaking a rib in a car accident three weeks ago, moved him on to 177 goals in all competitions for City – level with long-time record holder Eric Brook.

The 29-year-old opened the scoring in the 30th minute at the Etihad Stadium, sending Nick Pope the wrong way after the Burnley keeper brought down Bernardo Silva.

Brook represented City between 1928 and 1940, winning the FA Cup and First Division title, and has been unchallenged at the top of the club s standings for 79 years.

Senegal v Tanzania: Cisse eyes historic AFCON title

Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse believes his side are genuine challengers as they look to win a first Africa Cup of Nations.

Cisse s side kick off their campaign on Sunday against Tanzania and are expected to improve on the performance of two years ago, when they were dumped out in the quarter-finals by Cameroon.

While stopping short of describing Senegal as favourites to lift the trophy, Cisse does think they will be in contention in the latter stages of the tournament.

Favourites are the teams who have won, he said. Senegal have never won the Africa Cup of Nations; Egypt have seven times. We know our strengths and we are genuine challengers.

Our recent results show that Senegal is making progress, but the statistics don t lead to victories. France we…

Ancelotti wants to coach Roma

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed his desire to become Roma coach or return to AC Milan, having not worked in his native Italy since 2009.

The 56-year-old left Milan that year to take up the vacant manager s position at Chelsea, before going on to coach both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, winning at least one trophy with each club.

Ancelotti spent eight years at Roma as a player from 1979 to 1987, becoming captain and winning several titles, including Serie A and four Coppa Italias.

He then switched to Milan, for whom he won consecutive European Cups in 1989 and 1990 and enjoyed great success as head coach for eight years from 2001, but he still harbours ambitions to preside over a Roma team of his own.

He told Corriere dello Sport: I would very much l…

´The reality is we are two points behind´ – Guardiola warns title race not over as Man City bid to g

Pep Guardiola has warned Arsenal will not give up on their bid to deny Manchester City a third successive Premier League title.

After a Kevin De Bruyne-inspired City thrashed Arsenal 4-1 on Wednesday, Guardiola s men sit two points behind the faltering leaders with two games in hand.

Arsenal are not in action again until they host Chelsea on Tuesday, meaning City have the opportunity to go top of the table when they visit Fulham on Sunday.

With Arsenal only taking three points from their last four league games and City winning their last seven, some have declared the title race to be over, despite the Gunners leading the way.

Guardiola, however, is adamant City still have work to do.

Revisiting the ´Class of ´92´, Eric Harrison´s legacy

Manchester United announced the death of their revered former youth team coach Eric Harrison on Thursday, leading to numerous tributes for the man responsible for the development of one of the greatest dynasties British football has ever seen: the Class of 92 .

Harrison joined United in 1981 and was put in charge of the club s youth set-up under manager Ron Atkinson.

He was kept on when Alex Ferguson was hired as Atkinson s successor five years later and ultimately helped forge one of the most successful periods in United s history.

As head of United s youth team, Harrison oversaw the development of the group of players that would become known as Fergie s Fledglings .

Hiddink happy to see off ´dangerous´ City youngsters

Interim Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink claims Manuel Pellegrini s decision to name a young Manchester City team did not help his side in their 5-1 FA Cup fifth round win at Stamford Bridge.

Diego Costa put Chelsea ahead but City struck back through debutant striker David Faupala, before Willian, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and substitute Bertrand Traore sealed Chelsea s place in the quarter-finals.

Facing a side including six teenagers and five full debutants, Hiddink labelled his players ruthlessness as key .

Manchester City made changes but that doesn t make it easy because the youngsters that came in were dangerous, Hiddink told BBC Sport.

It was key that we started well in the second half, got an early second and third goal.

Fulham to sign Hector from Chelsea

Fulham have announced they will sign Michael Hector from Chelsea in January for an undisclosed fee.

Defender Hector joined the Blues from Reading in 2015 but has never made a competitive appearance for the club.

He spent last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, playing in 37 Championship games for the Owls.

The Jamaica international has also had time on loan with Hull City and Eintracht Frankfurt but has committed his future to Fulham until 2022, with the club also holding the option to extend for a further 12 months.

It was an easy decision to make. My mum s from Fulham, so it’s nice to join a club that some of my family support, Hector told Fulham s official club website.

It s good to now be a part of the set-up here. Hopefully things can…
