Marlon Humprhey Missed Practice Due to 'Illness,' Played on Sunday, Then Tested Positive For COVID-19

data-mm-id=”_7cc86l24h”>The Baltimore Ravens lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Cornerback Marlon Humphrey played all 53 defensive snaps. On Monday Humphrey went on Twitter to announce he had tested positive for COVID-19. While most NFL coronavirus tests barely register anymore, this one should shed a light on the shortfalls of the current NFL protocols. Humphrey was listed on the Ravens' injury report all week with an illness. He did not practice on Wednesday because of "non-COVID 19 illness." Yeah, turns out those were symptoms. In the real world, people are told to stay home and not go to work, but since the NFL is testing regularly, Humphrey was allowed to practice and play in Sunday's game before he finally tested positive. great pic.twitter.com/yXkIyJc…

Justin Fields and Bears Not Getting Much Respect Yet

data-mm-id=”_e6mz50zm0″>You gotta wonder what the Bears need to do to get people to believe in them at this point. They swung for the fences in the 2021 NFL Draft and they still aren't getting much love. At least not in Vegas. After going 8-8 and making the playoffs in 2020, and with the NFL adding another game to the schedule in 2021 and the Bears adding a new quarterback to lead them forward, WynnBET currently has the Bears win total set at 7.5 with the over a slight -125 favorite. Basically, the odds from Vegas suggest the Bears are going to take a step back in 2021. Talk about a slap in the face. The Bears traded up in the first round to nab Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. While leadership can hoot and holler about a quarterback competition between Fields and Andy Dalton…

Dan Orlovsky Says Bills Must Have the Courage to Tell Josh Allen to Grow Up

data-mm-id=”_wabzqa519″>The Josh Allen of old was back in full force on Monday Night Football earlier this week. And not in a good way! The star quarterback threw three interceptions against the New York Jets thanks to utterly reckless decision-making and cost his team a layup victory against the demoralized home side that lost its own star QB after merely four snaps. Allen has always been prone to such extremes and the Buffalo Bills just have to take the good with the bad but he's reached the point where this level of bad is no longer excusable. This is his fifth season in the league and next year his $258 million extension will kick in. If the Bills are to remain contenders Allen has to be better. He's rightfully borne the brunt of the criticism since the Week 1 loss and on…

Damien Woody Left Bloody By 'Get Up' Helmet-Smashing Segment

data-mm-id=”_rb55auy51″>Get Up appears to have a segment where they smash small miniature helmets, which is all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Which happened this morning when Damien Woody's emphatic destruction of a New England Patriots helmet left him bleeding all over the desk. Because he's a football player, he played right through it. This seems to be where Woody injured himself. Perhaps a bad omen for Sunday's game? pic.twitter.com/jENr6VquOP— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) September 21, 2023We have an injury update on Get Up this morning. Damien Woody appears to have cut his finger on a mini New England Patriots helmet. pic.twitter.com/bAoaY8YJj3— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) September 21, 2023Two things definitely happened after the show w…

Antonee Robinson Backflips After Stunning Goal

data-mm-id=”_2rv1k7f5t”>The U.S. men's national team faced Trinidad & Tobago Thursday night in the first leg of their CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal matchup. The Americans came away with a 3-0 lead, but one of those goals stood out above the others. Left-back Antonee Robinson hit a screamer of a shot from outside the box that found the back of the net, then he put an exclamation point on things with a series of backflips. Obviously, I have my show First Take on ESPN every weekday morning. It's a debate show. I would love to be in the Presidential Debate. I'd eat him alive. I wouldn't run for the presidency, but I'd debate Trump any day of the week. Any day of the week. Name the time and place and I'd show up."Now, before either side gets triggered by this, it doesn't seem like Smith has any particular issu…

Mike Tolbert Broke the Panthers Hype Drum

data-mm-id=”_3jqx7wguz”>The Carolina Panthers hosted the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The home team was just trying to muster up some positive energy as they limp to the end of an atrocious season that has no light at the end of it given they owe their first-round pick to the Chicago Bears. The Packers needed to leave with a win in order to stay in the NFL Wild Card race and played like it, entering the fourth quarter up multiple scores. This did not deter the Panthers from trying to get the crowd's energy up. To accomplish this they got former Carolina running back Mike Tolbert down to the sideline to bang on the big drum the team has (for some reason). However, much like this entire season, things went sideways for the Panthers and Tolbert broke the drum entirely after banging i…

The NFL's Biggest Political Lightning Rod is Also the Highest-Paid at His Position

data-mm-id=”_a9bzbp8pj”>The Kansas City Chiefs have spoken loudly about how important Harrison Butker is to their team, and they're expressing their gratitude with a contract extension that makes the three-time Super Bowl champion the highest-paid kicker in NFL history. On Monday, the 29-year-old Butker and the two-time defending Super Bowl champs reportedly agreed to a four-year, $25.6 million deal that will keep Butker in Kansas City through the 2028 season. Butker gets a guaranteed $17.75 million.Butker took to social media to show his appreciation to the Chiefs, who signed him in September 2017 after he was released by the Carolina Panthers. That year, the Panthers drafted Butker in the seventh round."There's no place I'd rather be than with the Chiefs," he …

CeeDee Lamb: how Dak Prescott's contract boosted the Cowboys

data-mm-id=”_54qsjn6mj”>The Dallas Cowboys certainly took their time finalizing contract extensions for two of their key players: wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott. However, it sure seems like the wait has paid off in more ways than one. Prescott's long-awaited contract, announced just before the Cowboys' dominant 33-17 road win over the Cleveland Browns, gave the team a noticeable boost. While the Cowboys were already laser-focused heading into the game, Lamb acknowledged that Prescott’s new deal added an extra spark. RELATED: Jerry Jones hints Dak Prescott's contract will lead to Super Bowl“We were already flying in with the intent that Dak was going to be our quarterback and that the deal was going to get done,” Lamb said after the game. “…
